Description:
24"-36" Black Clawson turret unwind. Model 229 UNWI. Age 1990. Two 6" dia. air shafts. Maximum dia. 40", 2,000 lb. max. Each unwind position is driven by a 30 HP G.E. DC motor. Controller Harland Simon solid-state variable speed drive, 460 volt, 3 phase, 60 cycle. Each of the two unwind spindles are driven by its own DC drive motor which is mounted on the turret wheel. These motors provide center speed up & regenerative tension control to the spindles through timing-belt connections. Indexing motor, 3 HP. Motors are explosion proof. Unwind was last inline with a rotogravure printing press printing flexible packaging. Lightweight films. Pneumatic chucking. Fife pump & air sensor for automatic edge guiding. Unwind & splicer are on a moveable base. Side shifting capability of +/- 3". Two 58" wide, 4" dia. idler rolls. Black Clawson splicing section. 18" minimum dia. splicing. Splicer is a Model 511. Splicer has a 43" wide pneumatically activated serrated cutoff knife.
